PS: I Hate You

Maddie meets Dom in Topeka, Kansas, two months after their Alabama trip. The coordinates lead them to the street outside an old theater. The letter they open from Josh speaks of how he met many people over his travels; he claims he captured one picture during a trip and earned a favor he never used. After a call to explain his situation, he has gifted the favor to Maddie and Dom.

Josh’s letter directs them to a tattoo shop across the street called Ink Ever After, where he expects them to get tattoos. Knowing they’d panic, Josh’s letter claims Maddie has wanted a tattoo since she was 16 but has been too afraid to commit, and Dom believes tattoos are more often permanent mistakes. He encourages them to follow through, take a picture, and then ask the shop owner Reggie for the location to spread Josh’s ashes.

Inside the tattoo shop, Maddie and Dom meet Reggie and his wife, Carmen. They share how they met Josh in Oregon; he took a picture of Reggie proposing to Carmen at Multnomah Falls and offered them the shot for free. As compensation, they offered him a tattoo on the house at a time of his choosing.
