Lights Out

Josh and Aly pile into the back of a power company van with Junior, six men in tactical gear, and a driver. They rehearse the plan: Junior, Aly, the driver, and the technology specialist will stay behind; Josh and the five remaining men will go inside; and they will wipe the computer, find the phone, and leave without a trace. Everyone puts on microphones to communicate, and Junior and Josh talk Aly out of going inside. The technology specialist turns off the power, deactivates the generator-powered security system, and sends them in. Josh marvels at the technology that the men use, and he plans to steal whatever he can. Once inside, the men split up, with Josh and the leader going to find the laptop. A stench in the house turns out to be dead bodies in the basement covered in cat litter, which Josh says helps to hide the smell of decomposition. The other men decide that they need to leave to avoid leaving evidence, but Josh insists on staying behind to wipe any trace of Aly from Brad’s devices.
